Wynne Greenwood, More Heads
September 22–November 3, 2013

Opening Reception: Sunday, September 22nd from 6:00–8:00 pm

This September SOLOWAY is pleased to present More Heads, a solo exhibition of works by Wynne Greenwood. In her videos Greenwood uses sculptural heads as characters, putting them into conversation with each other to explore internalized cultural violence, peace, artificiality and performance. Made out of ceramic, fabric, plaster, paper and found and donated materials, the heads were created in Seattle and Belgrade. Greenwood performs the voice of each character, making the conversation both an internal one, possibly existing within one individual, and a collective one, held between different members of a community.

Advanced notice to viewers: More Heads contains explicit language, and describes violence against a female-identified body.
